Abstract

1312686 Container and closure therefor MAUSER KG 27 April 1970 [21 Feb 1970] 20076/70 Heading B8T In a plastics container and a plastics closure therefor, the container has the following external surface configurations in succession going from its body portion 1 to its opening; a first neck 3 parallel or approximately parallel to the axis of the opening, an outwardly directed projection 5 whose surface 4 adjacent said neck extends at right angles or approximately so to the axis of the opening without undercut, the projection terminating in an inwardly directed surface, a second neck 6 and a bead 7 projecting outwardly beyond said second neck, whilst the closure has a relatively flexible centre portion surrounded by a relatively rigid edge and skirt portion and has securing members, e.g. clips, 19 divided from one another and conforming to the shape of the container first neck 3 and projection 5, and a relatively rigid internal projection 10 which conforms to the container second neck 6 and engages behind the container bead 7, a sealing ring 12 being provided for retention between the closure projection 10 and the skirt portion. The clips 19 may be clamped on to the first neck 3 by a band 11 which is held on the closure when loose by retaining projections 18 which extend downwardly to tabs 21 associated with at least some of the clips. The clips 19 may have webs 22 which guide the band 11 as it is tightened.
