Abstract

1311932 Fluorescent coating ENGLISH CALICO Ltd 29 June 1971 [7 April 1970] 16357/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C4 and G1] The coating on a base material has an ultraviolet fluorescing agent dispersed throughout. The base material may be paper or a woven, knitted or non-woven fabric or foam or metal. The type of coatings used are continuous films, random coatings, flock coatings, dot coatings or web coatings. The coating materials are especially adhesives, e.g. thermoplastic polymers derived from vinyl acetate, vinyl acetals, vinylidene chloride, vinyl chloride, acrylic esters, styrene, butadiene, olefins or polymers such as polyamides or polyesters. Other coatings suitable are elastomers such as urethane rubbers or those obtained by co-polymerisation of styrene with butadiene or ethylene with vinyl acetate. Fluorescing agents used are, for polyvinyl chloride coatings, Deckor 5016, Uvitex OB, Uvitex SWN, Blankophor KUM. For polyamide coatings Blankophor BBU or Uvitex SWN are satisfactory. Deckor, Uvitex and Blankophor are Trade Marks.
