Abstract

1311602 Aqueous fire fighting foams MONTECATINI EDISON SpA 19 April 1971 [27 Jan 1970 29 Jan 1970] 20294/71 Heading ASA An aqueous fire-fighting foam comprises (i) a foam-forming water-soluble salt of an alkylpolyalkoxy sulphuric acid and (ii) a watersoluble high molecular weight polyoxyethylene resin. Optionally (iii) 1, 2-dibromotetrafluoroethane and (iv) propellants, dispersants, corrosion inhibitors, and anti-freeze agents may be included. A preferred composition consists of 1-10% by wt. of a 10% aqueous solution of (i) ammonium lauryl polyethoxy (especially triethoxy) sulphate, 1-10% of a 0.5-5% aqueous solution of (ii), 0-70% (iii), and 10-98% water.
