Abstract
1311255 Instant tea UNILEVER Ltd 2 June 1971 [2 June 1970] 18578/71 Heading A2B Cold water insoluble tea solids (tea cream) which have been separated from an extract obtained by hot water extraction of tea leaf are rendered cold water soluble by oxidising them in aqueous dispersion at a pH of 9 to 10, for example by means of air, and there after treating the resulting solution with a compound selected from sulphur dioxide, sulphurous acid, a sulphate, or a bisulphite. The product may be returned to the extract and the whole dried to give an instant tea.
