Abstract

1310888 Transporting cable drums T C McCAULEY 2 Dec 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 59182/69 Heading B7B A transporter for cable drums is in the form of a trailer provided with longitudinal and transverse chassis components 10, 11 carried by wheels 12 on a stub axle 17. Components 10 are joined by a bar 13 having a towing eye 16. A wheel 14 is retracted by a screw 15 when the trailer is coupled to a towing vehicle. Inclined members 21 have tracks on their upper sides. Elongated members 22 having hooks 23 are connected to bars 25 pivotally connected to stanchions 24. The bars 25 are actuated by fluid actuators 27 to raise an axle 30 removably inserted in a drum, not shown. Holes 31 in the tracks receive pins to arrest the axle 30 in a desired position.
