Abstract

1310059 Chimney and like flashings G W BAMBROUGH [trading as GEORGE BAMBROUGH ASSOCIATES] 2 July 1971 [11 Dec 1970] 58960/70 Heading F4J A roof weathering slate comprises a substantially flat base 5, 6 from which projects afrustoconical collar of elastomeric material, e.g. neoprene, having its longitudinal axis inclined relative to the base and its upper end lying in a plane at right angles to the said axis. The collar has a sealing rib 4 near its upper end and an alternative construction has a larger stiffening protrusion (8, Fig. 3) slightly below said rib. The slate may be one-piece or its base 5, 6 may be made of metal, e.g. aluminium to which the collar is adhesively attached. The collar lower edge may engage an upwardly directed base flange (Fig. 4) or be bent to accommodate said flange (Fig. 5). Another alternative shows a grooved lower edge engaging the flange (Fig. 6). The longitudinal axis of the collar is inclined at about 75 degrees to the base and its thickness may increase from À050 inch at the top towards the base which is <SP>3</SP>/ 16 inch thick.
