Abstract

1308801 Valves THERMO-TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT Ltd 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970 18 March 1970] 5918/70 and 12919/70 Heading F2V A valve closure seal is a cantilever leaf spring 5 acted upon by spring (s) 8 so that it assumes a flat condition in valve closed position. As shown interlinked louvre members each carry a spring- loaded seal 5, 8 and the lower port of the valve frame 1 carries a similar seal. The seals may be duplicated in pairs in valves having pressure differentials in opposite directions, the seals of a pair acting in opposite directions. Similar seals may be used in piston-cylinder actuated gate valves. In one embodiment the gate is hollow and tapered.
