Abstract

1306683 Blow torch burner CALOR ENG Ltd 19 April 1971 [22 Jan 1970] 3184/70 Heading F4T In a blow torch head assembly for use with gas at pressures up to 100 p.s.i., gas, which may be fuel gas or air or a mixture of these, is supplied via a jet holder 2 to outlet passageways 8 in a jet 1, so that the gas emerges in directions to impinge on the wall of a cylindrical member 4, fuel gas being ignited at an outlet port formed at open end 7 of member 4. The jet 1 is provided also with a central outlet passageway 9. The assembly is screwed to a handle (not shown) provided with a conduit connected to jet 1 and to a high pressure fuel gas supply, a valve being provided to control the supply of fuel gas to the jet 1. Alternatively, air can be supplied at high pressure to jet 1, fuel gas being supplied around the jet, or both air and gas can be supplied to a mixing chamber in the handle, the mixture then passing to jet 1.
