Abstract
1306469 Underwater apparatus C W WESTON JNR 22 Dec 1970 60968/70 Heading E1H Underwater apparatus comprises a casing 10 containing power units (e.g. an electric motor 24 and pump 27 in a closed loop circuit via 30, 31 with an outside tool) and fluid kept at a pressure greater than the surrounding medium by the weight of the apparatus. The apparatus may be axially slidable via tangs 17, 18 in a frame 13 .. 15 in which it is supported by a piston 19 and a bladder 23 filled and communicating with the fluid in the casing, inserted in a cylinder 21 communicating at 22 with the surrounding medium. The piston bladder and cylinder may be replaced by a tyre (33) Fig. 3 (not shown) with its axis vertical, filled with the fluid and sandwiched between annular feet of the casing and frame to support the weight of the casing and contents.
