Abstract
1305638 Two part couplings NOKIA AB OY 20 May 1970 [31 May 1969 21 Jan 1970] 26139/70 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] A plug for a current supply bar 1 having at least three electrical conductors R, S, Mp comprises a like number of electrically conductive contact fingers 6 which are selectively displaced by respective cam surfaces i.e. 3f, 3e of a control shaft 3 to engage respective conductors of the bar. A common conductor Mp may be used with any of live conductors R, S, T by appropriate rotation of the shaft, the contact fingers for R, S and T being interconnected. Arms 5 may be hard to retain the plug in the bar by ends 5a engaging flanges 1a of the bar when the shaft is rotated from its rest position. An earth finger 4 may interact with the shaft by peg 3b and recess 4c to prevent the shaft being rotated, to engage the fingers, if the earth contact is not depressed by engagement with the earth conductor E. The peg and recess positions may be exchanged. The contacts may be normally biased towards the conductors and then lifted from them by the cam surfaces or may have cage sections (Fig. 16, not shown) surrounding the shaft and engaged with cam surfaces so as to be moved to or from the conductors when the shaft is rotated. A contact finger may have two opposed contact ends 16<SP>1</SP>, 26<SP>1</SP>( Fig. 14, not shown) to alternatively engage opposed conductors. The rail may be of metal with plastics inserts for supporting the conductors.
