Abstract

1305118 Filling cushions FIBER INDUSTRIES Inc 21 July 1970 [24 July 1969] 35278/70 Heading A4M [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for filling a cushion cover (r) with resilient, fibrous material B comprises a pair of driven, opposed conveyer belt assemblies 52, 54 between which the filling is compressed and conveyed into the cover (r) which is fitted over the discharge end of the assemblies 52, 54 and includes a pair of guides 102, 104 which extend longitudinally between, and within the lateral width of, the belt assemblies 52, 54, the guides 102, 104 serving to laterally compress the filling B and to prevent lateral discharge of the filling B into the drive means for the belts. The guides 102, 104 may be laterally displaceable by screws 106. Alternatively the guides 102, 104 may comprise resilient extensions of side walls 94, 96 of a feed hopper 92 having a bottom formed by an endless belt 37 driven in synchronism with the belt assemblies 52, 54.
