1305110 Moulding reinforced concrete M BORCOMAN 8 Oct 1970 [10 Oct 1969] 47945/70 Heading B5A Reinforced concrete structures such as beams and slabs are moulded by rotating a mouldcarrying hall about its horizontal axis, the moulds being mounted on the inside of the hall and treated at a number of working stations located on a stationary structure extending through the hall. The latter comprises a cylindrical structure composed of rings 1 interconnected by beams 2, 3 and covering plates 10; it is supported by collars 11 received by rollers 12. Alternatively, the hall may be of reinforced concrete. The moulds may be mounted detachably in batteries 14 having steam heaters 15; heat insulating panels 9 are positioned between the moulds and the hall framework. The stationary structure includes beams 17 and platforms 19 on which the various mould working installations are located; the structure also includes enclosures for an office, laboratory, workshop and store. Empty moulds are cleaned and oiled at a station NH and reinforcing wires are located and tensioned in the moulds at a station MT. Concrete is fed to the moulds in turn at a station B by a carriage including a hopper 39, a vibratory plate 40 with vibrators 41 and springs 42. Steam is then fed into the mould heaters 15 and a saturated humidity is provided between the free concrete surfaces in the moulds and a fixed screen 20. The moulded articles are removed from their moulds, after cutting their reinforcement wires, by suction plates 46 mounted on a rotary and vertically reciprocable beam 45 whereby the articles are extracted, lowered, inverted and placed on a conveyer belt.
