Abstract

1304660 Hopper wagons; tank wagons; bulk transporters WELLINK NV GEBR 2 July 1971 [7 April 1971] 31218/71 Headings B7B and B7L A vehicle for the conveyance of material in particulate or pellet form comprises at least one container 10, for receiving material 7, divided into compartments 11 communicating with each other (via passages 4) and each having a discharge hopper 8 which communicates with a common discharge tube 1 via at least one discharge hopper opening 18 closable by a vertically movable valve member 19, the discharge tube 1 comprising a nozzle 12 for introducing compressed air into tube 1 and a discharge member 13 for discharging air and material from tube 1, wherein the valve member 19 has a smoothly curved circumference (e.g. circular or oval) and co-operates sealingly with a correspondingly-shaped circumference of the discharge hopper opening 18 by means of an elastic sealing-ring 20. The valve member 19 may be attached to the lower end of a sliding pipe 25 telescopically co-operating with a cover 26 rigidly attached to the hopper 8 by two vertical strips 28, and the member 19 may be lifted by rotation of a shaft 30 carrying an eccentric 31 which engages a bracket 32 of member 19.
