1303289 Clocks BRAUN A G 15 May 1970 [20 May 1969] 23564/70 Heading G3T In a digital clock having hours and minutes indications carried on plates or tablets which are arranged on drums 21, 31 respectively, additional information such as the day, date or alarm time is displayed by one or more endless belts 41, 42. The clock is driven by a clockwork mechanism 7 and the belts are carried around pegs 9 on a frame plate 8 and are axially restrained by discs 91-94 on the pegs. Each belt may have perforations as at 411, 412 and be driven by a toothed wheel 10; alternatively the belts may be internally serrated and driven by a corresponding wheel (42'), Fig.4, (not shown). A single setting knob 5 is used to set either of the belts 41, 42 depending on which way the knob is turned. This is achieved by mounting the knob 5 on a shaft (51), Fig. 5 (not shown), which is coupled to two toothed wheels (52, 53) through oppositely arranged ratchet and pawl mechanisms. In a modification Fig.7 (not shown), in which the additional information includes the time for an alarm signal, rotation of the knob 5 in one direction sets the alarm time and in the other direction winds the alarm-ringing mechanism axial movement of the shaft 51 serving to secure or release the mechanism, e.g. through an electric switch contact.
