1301864 Dental stands TOMELILLA DENTAL AB 8 Sept 1970 [9 Sept 1969] 43004/70 Heading A4H [Also in Divisions A5 B8] A holder assembly for a line connection 9, such as an air or water hose or an electrical lead, to a manually held implement 8, such as a dental drill or syringe, comprises a member 4 rotatable in a vertical plane about a horizontal shaft 3, a stop 11 against which a line support 7 is normally urged by gravity, a member 5 which is rotatable about shaft 3 but has biasing means to resist displacement from a rest position, and means for causing engagement between members 4 and 5 on rotation of member 4 by pulling on line 9 to bring the support 7 to a position in which the bias applied by gravity is substantially overcome, with the member 5 in its rest position so that further rotation of member 4 is effected against the biasing means of member 5 by movement of member 5 from its rest position and so that on release of tension in line 9 member 4 is rotated by the bias of member 5 to just past said position and is then urged by gravity acting on support 7 to move support 7 against stop 11. The engagement between members 4 and 5 is effected by a pin on member 4 engaging in a slot in member 5, the slot being of such a length that such engagement is effective in the range #, but not in the range α, of angular movement of support 7. The biasing means of member 5 may be a weight 12 or a spiral spring (19), Fig.3, (not shown), or by magnetic or pneumatic means. Two members 4 may be provided one on either side of member 5 which has two slots engaged by respective pins on the members 4, the slots being of sufficient length so that movement of member 5 by one member 4 does not move the other member 4. A magnet 17 may be provided to hold implement 8 when not in use.
