Abstract
1300065 Sink waste fittings EASICLENE DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT Ltd 11 Nov 1970 [21 Nov 1969] 57138/69 Heading A4N A pressed metal sink has an opening in the bottom and around this opening is welded an outwardly directed flange 4 on one end of a tubular drain fitting 3 having a section of wall 5 which is frusto-conical. The drain fitting 3 is equipped with a grid 6 having perforations and an outlet sleeve or tube 8 having an external thread 9 for connection to it of an outlet pipe or trap. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the upper end of the tube 8 is rolled over inwardly and is brazed or welded to a flange 10 at the lower end of the wall 5, the grid 6 being provided in the upper end of the tube 8. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the tube 8 has an upward frusto-conical extension (11) which fits over the outer surface of the wall 5 and is brazed or welded thereto, the grid (6) being provided in the lower end of the wall 5. In another embodiment (not shown) the tube 8 is formed as an integral part of the drain fitting 3. The above described embodiments may alternatively include a second frusto-conical peripheral wall (2), Fig.3 (not shown), which serves as a depression in the bottom of the sink, the sink in this case having a relatively large opening in the bottom thereof.
