Abstract

1300020 Dry shavers SPERRY RAND CORP 28 Sept 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 45202/71 Heading B4B A long hair trimmer head for an electric dry shaver comprises a comb member 36 having teeth 46 and secured to a cap 12, a movable cutter 50 having teeth 48 and a portion 56, 58, 60 mounted on a supporting member 64, 66 such that the cutter 50 can be moved relative to the comb 36, the supporting member having means 96, 98, 99 for engagement with the movable cutter so as to urge the teeth of the latter into contact with the comb teeth. The supporting member for the movable cutter 50 is formed from, e.g. nylon and comprises a portion 64 integrally connected to end portions 68, 70 by flexible hinge-like members 79, 80 the portion having inclined surfaces 82 on which the portions 56, 58 of the blade is secured; the portion 64 is also formed with tongues 92 for co-operation with drive arm 94 of an electric motor. The end portions 68, 70 of the supporting member are formed with arms 96, 98 which press on a connecting portion 60 of the movable cutter in order to provide the loading on the teeth.
