Abstract

1299394 Mounting handles on shafts FIAT SpA 6 March 1970 [15 March 1969] 10865/70 Heading F2U A handle comprises a hub 2 having coaxial with its axis of rotation, a bore 8 shaped (e.g. by splines) to engage a shaft 3 (e.g. to drive a motor car window mechanism), and extending normal to that axis a lever arm 1 slidable along its extent on to the hub and a locking device to prevent axial movement of the hub on the shaft or of movement of the lever arm on the hub. In the form shown the arm 1 comprises a metal tongue 1a which enters a tunnel in the hub at 7 until a central part 12 of a cutout passes behind the splines when the shaft 3 is inserted. The arm 1 is then partly retracted, a part 13 engaging a groove 3a in the shaft, and a hole 15 being aligned with a recess 14, into which is inserted a pin 16 integral with a plastics arm part 6, of which a projection 17 snaps over a ledge.
