Abstract
1299260 Bogies SOC ANON USINES EMILE HENRICOT 18 June 1970 [23 March 1970] 29560/70 Heading B7L A wheeled bogie comprises two parallel sideframes 1 each having two bores 2 which are each divided by a rim 3 into two annular shoulders 4, 5 for receiving torus-shaped resilient hoops 14, 15. Each bore and its respective hoops receive therethrough an axle box 6 having a first cylindrical part which projects through the bore 2 and hoops 4, 5 and which has a radial flange 7 which co-operates with the shoulder 4 to retain the hoop 14. The axle box 6 has a further part 10 which is secured to the cylindrical part so that a flange 11 on the part 10 retains the hoop 15. The wide-frames 1 are thus suspended resiliently on the axle boxes 6. The hoops 4, 5 may have varying cross-sections, Fig. 7, so that, if there is a misalignment s of the axle boxes on opposite side-frames, this may be corrected by rotation of the appropriate hoop through an angle α where sinα = #/e, e being the displacement between the centres of the outer and inner peripheries of the hoop.
