Abstract
1296553 Percussive tools ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 28 Nov 1969 [30 Nov 1968] 58202/69 Heading B4C A portable percussive tool including a driving motor and a tool-bit holder comprises a member reciprocable by the motor and a striker for supplying impact energy to a tool-bit, the striker being impellable both towards and away from the holder through the development of a respective air cushion between the striker and the member during reciprocation of the latter, a resilient buffer, capable of acting between the drivable member, being fitted in the member. As illustrated, the member comprises a cylinder 5 reciprocated by the motor via a crankpin 2. An end cap 11 for the cylinder is retained therein by a spring ring 13 and is provided with a buffer 16. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), a buffer in the form of an 0-ring located in a groove in the cylinder is provided at each end of the cylinder. The O- rings may alternatively be inserted loosely in the cylinder.
