Abstract

129,501. Capstick, R., and Brooks, A. A. Aug. 22, 1918. Guns.-A figure or figures representing a soldier, bird, &c. is connected to a toy gun and is caused to move when the gun is fired. In the e arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the figure a is fixed to the lever b, pivoted on the barrel and connected by a link d to a rod e normally forced forward by a spring h. When the rod is drawn back, a catch f on its inner end engages a lever g connected to a trigger i. When the gun is fired, the figure assumes the position shown in dotted lines. An anvil j on the barrel is adapted to receive a percussion cap which is fired by a hammer a<1> on the figure striking it. In a modification, the barrel c', Fig. 2, is solid and slides in the stock, being forced outwards when the trigger is pulled by the expansion of the trigger guard o. The figure in this case is connected by a fixed link m to the stock. The trigger may be made of sheet metal and provided with a hook to engage a cross-pin on the figure.
