Abstract

1292829 Vacuum switches ELEKTROAPPARATE-WERKE BERLIN-TREPTOW VEB 8 Dec 1969 59793/69 Heading H1N A vacuum switch comprises a metal cylinder 1 closed at one end by an insulating disc 3 having a central metal bush 2 through which an electrode 6 passes and at the other end by a bearing 10 through which a movable electrode 8 slides, the electrode 8 being sealed to the cylinder by a bellows 5 and the bush 4 being extended by an outwardly directed flange 4 which serves to screen the insulating disc 3 from metal vapour formed on interruption. This disc 3 is of glass or ceramic and is ribbed to increase the leakage path.
