1292618 Moulding wax matches CHET INDUSTRIES (PTY) Ltd 3 Oct 1969 [14 Oct 1968] 48781/69 Headings B4B and B5A [Also in Divisions B6 and F3] A continuous moving web of wax coated paper is folded, compacted and shaped into an elongated member of rectilinear cross-section in a series of folding devices and dies comprising a first folding member 5, Fig. 2; a second folding member 6, Fig. 3; a third folding member (7, Fig. 4, not shown) identical with that of Fig. 2; a compacting die 8, Fig. 5, for producing a generally rounded element having a serrated core 10 with a wax coating 11, a die (16, Fig. 6, not shown) for forming the element with a number of convex sides; a die (17, Fig. 7, not shown) for shaping the element into one having straight sides; and a die 18, Fig. 8, which forms the element with concave sides which subsequently expand to produce an element 10c of substantially rectilinear cross-section. This element is cut into match lengths. The dies are all steamheated. The device for cutting the match lengths comprises an anvil 30, Fig. 10, and a rotary inclined blade 32 passing over bores 31 through which the continuous lengths emerge. (For Figures see next page.)
