Abstract

1290638 Panel boards WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 20368/71 Heading H1N Relates to a device for coupling circuitbreakers electrically and mechanically to a panel board. The board carries insulating blocks 13 spaced apart according to the length of the circuit-breaker (Figs. 1-3, not shown). Each block carries a set of plug-in terminals 15 each comprising two conducting blades 17. The circuit-breaker has plug terminals 61 which are inserted between the blades 17. Between the terminal assemblies 15 are locking devices each comprising two toggle members 29, 31 and a plate 33 loosely supported between adjacent blades 17 by a spring and a screw 35. To mount a circuit-breaker a screw 71 is inserted through a bore in the circuit-breaker casing and a tapped hole in the plate 33; as the screw is turned the toggle members 29, 31 are drawn up into the straightened position shown so that their legs 81 force the blades 17 against the plugs 61. When the screws are removed the toggle members collapse (Fig. 5, not shown) to release the plugs. Each of the blocks 13, toggle members 29, 31 and plates 33 are formed with several rows of apertures to allow for circuit breaks of various lengths (Figs. 1, 7, not shown).
