Abstract

1290425 Dental chairs SURGICAL MECHANICAL RESEARCH Inc 26 Sept 1970 45968/70 Heading A4J In a medical chair which has two power units 29, 39 for raising and lowering the chair and for altering the inclination of the seat member 22 and backrest 25 respectively, a footrest 46 is drawn under the seat member 22 when the seat is lowered and in the horizontal position, the footrest being connected to the forward end of a pair of seat supports 20 by a pair of leg rest supports 45. The base 2 of the chair is rotatable about a vertical axis a friction member 62 which engages a fixed base 1 holding the chair against rotation. Pressure on foot pads 61 causes the member 62 to disengage the fixed base so that the chair may be rotated.
