Abstract
1290402 Mobile elevating apparatus J ROTHEISLER 28 April 1970 20337/70 Heading B8H A mobile elevating platform in which the platform 25 is elevated in a substantially rectilinear vertical path comprises a chassis 11 on which a lower boom section 15 is mounted at one end at pivot 17 and is pivotally connected at its other end to an upper boom section 16 at a pivot 19 on a bell crank 22. The platform 25 is pivotally mounted at the outer end of boom section 16 and is pivotally connected to the bell crank 22 by a bar 20. A bar 34 is pivotally connected between the chassis 11 and boom section 16. When the boom section 15 is actuated by an hydraulic ram 29 through a piston rod 32 the bar 34 guides the movement of boom section 16 in such a manner that the platform 25 is raised (or lowered) in a substantially rectilinear vertical path as illustrated by line (38), Fig. 3 (not shown), in which the dotted lines represent the positions of the members when the platform 25 is elevated. In a further embodiment the rigid bar 34 is replaced by a chain (34a), Fig. 2 (not shown), which passes around a sprocket (44) on the upper boom section.
