Abstract

1290084 Ventilators ALDES ATELIERS LYONNAIS D'EMBOUTISSAGE SPECIAL SA 27 July 1970 [13 Aug 1969] 36263/70 Heading F4V A constant flow air regulator mounted in a wall or window frame passage to admit fresh air to a building comprises curved ribs 24 and a flexible and resilient strip 26 which is fixed at one edge and has at least one lug 27 formed on at least one of its free edges, the ribs producing controlled deformation of the strip 26 in the event of increased pressure difference between the ends of the passage, and the lug or lugs contacting a base-plate 21 to prevent vibration of the strip 26. In another embodiment, the strip 26 and ribs 24 are rotated counter-clockwise 90 degrees, and a vertical plate is provided at the inner end of the passage to deflect air upwardly into the building and to form the base-plate for the lug(s) 27. The base-plate and ribs 24 form part of an injection moulded plastics frame which is inserted in the wall passage, and the strip 26 is made of ethylene polyterephthalate.
