1287992 Two-part couplings T FUJITA 4 Feb 1970 [22 May 1969] 5297/70 Heading H2E A relay socket is comprised of several socket units 1 (Fig. 5) and a front plate 62, the socket units each having a central part 11 which carries the recesses for accepting the terminals 2a (Fig. 3) of the relay and stepped terminal beds 12a, 12b on each side of the socket unit. Separators 13 are formed behind the terminal beds and the central part projects beyond these separators to locate in the recessed central part of the next socket. The front face of the socket is open to accept the terminal connector strips 3, 4, (Fig. 5) which carry threaded holes 32a, 42a in one end to accept the terminal screws 5 (Fig. 3). Relay terminal connectors 31, 41 may be wrapped round the inset shouldered portion of the strips. A tag 31a (Fig. 7) is punched in the connectors 31, 41 to locate in a hole 32c in the shoulder portion of the strips. Each socket unit has locating projections 11g (Fig. 5) on their front surfaces and a receiving channel 15 (Fig. 5, and Fig. 2) to accept a locating lug 14 (Fig. 2) from the rear of the previous socket. The end plate 62 has holes 61d to take rivets which pass through holes 11h in the units and are secured at the rear end of the last unit and also projection 61b (Fig. 2) to locate the end plate to the adjacent socket unit and 61a, Fig. 2, to accept the projection 14 from the last socket unit of another relay unit. Grooves 11i (Fig. 3) in the surface of the central portion which locate projection 2b in the relay's base 2 may be included.
