Abstract

1286940 Pressure gauges C ALINARI 19 April 1971 [14 March 1970] 23934/71 Heading G1L In a pressure gauge suitable for immersion in a liquid, a Bourdon tube gauge is housed in a body 10 and is connected to a nipple 22 by means of which the gauge is held in position by a nut 40 in a one piece resilient casing 24, which makes a sealing contact with the edge of a transparent disc 18, clamped by a metal ring 30, and in which the nipple 22 terminates in a chamber filled with an inert liquid and formed with a membrane 44 which is sensitive to the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere so as to transmit pressure variations through the inert liquid to the Bourdon gauge. A groove 50 in the nipple ensures that liquid may enter the nipple 22 when the membrane 44 is pressed against the nipple end.
