Abstract

1283758 Releasable fastenings COOKSON SHEET METAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 14 Dec 1970 [23 Dec 1969] 62617/69 Heading E2A A fixing device 6 for roofing and siding sheets may be made from a single piece of sheet metal and has an elongate portion 8 Fig. 1, having flanges 36, 40 for locating a sheet and having a clip 12 for holding a sheet. The clip 12 comprises resilient arms 60, 62 which are connected by walls 56, 58 respectively to the base of walls 46, 48 respectively of a central portion 44 of the device. In use the device is attached by screws 16 and 22, Fig. 2, to a purlin 14, the sheet 20 is located as shown in Fig. 2, the sheet 20 underlaying a sheet 78, Fig. 4, which having an intermediate rib 24, is held by means of lips 74, 76 of the arms 60, 62 respectively, the lips being received in pockets 32, 34 formed at the ends of walls 28, 30 of the rib 24 respectively.
