Abstract
1283018 Electric timepieces TIMEX CORP 19 April 1971 [6 April 1970] 26279/71 Heading G3T A wrist watch comprises a case 15 having three sections; the first section containing a Piezoelectric crystal 21 enclosed in a can; the second section containing an electro-mechanical transducer, a dial train drive, time indicating means and a dial bearing time indicia and covered with a clear crystal 14; the third section containing electronic circuitry 19 for the synchronization of the transducer; the second section being between the first and third sections when viewed from the rear of case 15. Crystal 21 is quartz. Crystal 14 is of glass or a suitable clear synthetic plastic resin. Circuitry 19 consists of a number of integrated circuits and discrete components mounted on a board or encapsulated. The movement 20 in the second section includes a balance wheel carrying a coil, three magnets and an output impulsing circuit, which may be included in circuitry 19. The balance wheel may drive the dial train either directly or through a fork. Back cover 22 may have a separate battery cover portion.
