Abstract

1280732 Measuring temperature electrically KABEL-UND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHœTTE A G 5 Aug 1970 [19 Aug 1969] 37815/70 Heading G1N A circuit for monitoring the temperature of a power cable including a conductor 1 and a screen 3 comprises a plurality of thermistors 4 each having a positive temperature coefficient of resistivity and connected in series to a voltage source 5 to which the return line is either the conductor or the screen of the power cable. Current variations in the thermistor circuit are measured with an instrument 6 and in alternative embodiments may be used to operate a warning or disconnect the cable.
