Abstract
1280633 Freeze drying J LYONS & CO Ltd 27 Oct 1969 [25 Oct 1968] 50741/68 Heading F4G Granular material is produced by subjecting a liquid containing the material to a gas under pressure, freezing the liquid, granulating the frozen liquid and drying the frozen granulate. Tea extract is subjected to carbon dioxide at high pressure and is cooled on the surface of a rotating drum. When the liquid is near its freezing point the pressure is removed and the freezing process completed. The frozen extract is then granulated and freeze dried. The final solids content is dependant upon the pressure of the carbon dioxide.
