1280346 Container ends METAL BOX CO Ltd 9 June 1970 [16 July 1969] 35755/69 Heading B8D In a tinplate or aluminium end for a metal, paperboard or plastics container body wherein the lower end of a chuck wall 2 merges into a radiused channel portion 3 which itself merges into a peripheral zone 5 raised from the central portion 5, the peripheral zone comprises contiguous upwardly-sloping portions 7 and 8 and downwardly-sloping portions 9 and 10, the slopes of portions 8 and 9 being less steep than those of portions 7 and 10 respectively. The junctures between the sloping portions are formed by small radiused portions. A score-line 13 is defined in the juncture between portions 8 and 9 to provide an easy open end, a pull tab (not shown) being attached to the end.
