Abstract

1276609 Brake discs; cooling disc brakes DAIMLER-BENZ AG 1 Oct 1970 [4 Oct 1969 46708/70 Heading F2E A brake disc for a vehicular disc brake has a pot-shaped hub 2 and axially inner and outer brake rings 3 and 1 respectively connected by webs 5 bounding cooling air passages 4 in the disc, the thickness of the outer brake ring 1 which alone of the two brake rings merges directly with the hub 2 being greater than that of the inner ring 3. An annular recess 6 is provided in the region of transition between the outer ring 1 and the hub 2. The arrangement is said to ensure durability of the disc, to withstand high specific thermal loading and to ensure uniform distribution of heat in the disc.
