Abstract

1,273,662. Coal plough. GEWERKSCH AFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. 30 June, 1970 [23 Aug., 1969], No. 31547/70. Heading E1F. A coal plough has a body fitted with base cutters for cutting in the floor zone of a mine, main cutters disposed inwardly of the base cutters relative to the body centre and a device for limiting the depth of out disposed inwardly above the main cutters relative to the body centre. The limiting device may be supported for sliding against the work face, and may be disposed outwardly relative to the centre of the body from a group of cutters adapted to cut in the central and upper face zones. The plough may comprise a body 10 having at either end base cutters 12, main cutters 11, a limiting device 15 and upper cutters 14. The notches 21 on adjustable plates 20 of each device 15 serve to position the adjacent slidably-mounted arcuate member 13 and thus control the depth of cut of base cutters 12 attached to the member 13. Each member 13 may be secured by a clamp member 23. At each plough end base cutters 12, main cutters 11 and surface 16 of limiting device 15 form a ramp for detached coal.
