Abstract

1,273,566. Panty hose. ELBEO MFG. Ltd. 7 Nov., 1969 [28 Nov., 1968], No. 56543/68. Heading A3V [Also in Division Dl] A knitted panty hose garment comprises two leg portions 6 and a trunk or body portion between them knitted as a continuous tube, wherein the trunk or body portion is continuously curved and has crotch area 10 and an outer area 11 both of which extend between the two leg portions, the crotch area being knitted shorter than the outer area. The portion 12 may be slit and a waist band inserted or elastic yarns may be inlaid in that area during knitting to be subsequently slit for the formation of a waist band. The difference in length of the areas may be produced by large or small stitches, partial courses, plain stitches in the outer area and tuck stitches in the crotch area or laying in threads in the crotch area which would otherwise be knitted in.
