Abstract

1,272,564. Gas filter. D. A. G. MARSHALL. 25 Sept., 1969 [30 Sept., 1968], No. 46399/68. Heading BIT. [Also in Division B5] An air filter comprises a pleated layer of two-ply sheet, one layer 22 of which is phenolic resin impregnated glass fibre woven fabric bonded to the other layer 20 of glass fibre paper having a water-repellant coating which does not block the pores of the glass fibre paper. Bonded to the sheet at the top are rods 24 and attached to a layer of demembraned polyurethane foam 16, and bonded at the bottom is an expanded metal grille with attached demembraned polyurethane foam layer 18. Frame 10 comprises metal casing 26 and rigid synthetic plastics filling 28. The water-repellant coating may be applied as a silane or soloxane solution.
