Abstract

1,272,047. Agitating and aerating liquids. W. E. SCRAGG. 6 April, 1971, No. 8904/71. Heading B1C. A diffuser for aerating and agitating e.g. effluent slurry comprises a body 11 defining an air chamber from which extends a plurality of outlet conduits 15 which may be angled upwardly as shown or downwardly. Each conduit may have a non-return valve 16 which may be a ball or plastic flap-valve, or there may be a single non-return valve between the inlet and the conduits 15. The ends of the chamber are closed by a threaded inlet fitting 14 and a plug 13 which may be interchangeable. Enhanced results may be obtained in use by rotating the inlet conduit and aerator.
