Abstract

1,270,356. Angular bending. HAMMERLE A.G. MASCHINENFABRIK. 15 Sept., 1970 [22 Sept., 1969], No. 43930/70. Heading B3E. A reciprocating bender comprises a worktable 4 supporting a bottom die 5 having a plurality of work positions 6, 7, a ram carrying a bending tool 2 in a first tool holder 1 for coacting with work position 6, and a secondary tool holder 10 mounted upon the first tool holder and displaceable between operative and inoperative positions which carries a further tool 8 which in its operative position is actuable indirectly via the first tool holder and/or via a tool therein by the ram to coact with the other work position 7 of the bottom die said secondary tool holder being displaceable both laterally and parallel to the movement of the ram. The further tool 8 includes a lateral recess 9 for receiving the tool 2 so that pressure from the holder 1 is applied to the tool 8. The secondary tool holder 10 comprises a piston rod of a doubleacting working cylinder 12 pivoted at its lower end to the holder 1 and at its upper end to a double-acting piston-cylinder assemble also pivoted to the holder 1. In its inoperative position the tool 8 is swung away from the tool 2 and retracted. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the working cylinder 12 of the secondary tool holder is mounted on the tool holder 1 by two spaced-apart double-acting cylinders which are actuated simultaneously to displace the tool 8 and the secondary tool holder assembly laterally while remaining parallel to the tool holder 1 after which the tool 8 is retracted.
