Abstract

1,268,914. Heated draw roll. MASCHINENFABBIK RIETER A.G. 5 Nov., 1969 [6 Nov., 1968], No. 54125/69. Heading B5B. [Also in Divisions D1, G1 and H3-H5] An inductively-heated draw roll 1, for drawtwisting, draw-winding and spin-draw-winding of filaments, has a stationary temperature gauge 12 which is flat, spaced from the inside surface 9 of the cylindrical roller wall 10, arranged centrally of the length of the roller and heatinsulated from the induction heating device 4. Device 4 has a magnetic, conductive cylindrical core 6 with lateral flanges 7, 8 and a winding spool 11. An insulating lacquered foil 13 separates spool 11 and gauge 12. Alternatively the gauge 14, Fig. 2 (not shown), is mounted on one leg of a U-shaped section support ring 14<SP>1</SP> and is spaced by a heat-insulating air gap from windings 16, to which the other leg is secured. The gauge is an oven-thermometer, such as a platinum resistance thermometer, or a foilthermometer, or is a narrow rod-like strip 18, Fig. 4 (not shown), on a holder 20 secured to the winding 19.
