Abstract

1,268,001. Pneumatic conveyers; transferring granular materials from ships. INDUSTRIEELE HANDELSCOMBINATIE HOLLAND. 26 June, 1969 [18 July, 1968], No. 32450/69. Headings B8A and B8E. A pneumatic conveyer for use in transferring granular material from one ship to another comprises a receiver vessel 1 supported for rotation on bearings 14 on a frame 15 and provided with a connection 19 to a vacuum source and with a luffable inlet pipe 2. The pipe 2 is supported by a beam 3 and is pivotable about an axis 5, a seal being provided between the pipe and the wall of the vessel 1. Material entering the vessel 1 from the pipe 2 is separated therein from the conveying air and is discharged through an air-lock device (not shown).
