Abstract

1414882 Pneumatic conveyers KARL FAZER AB OY 11 Sept 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 42671/73 Heading B8A In a pneumatic conveying apparatus for fine particulate material, e.g. flour, the material is fluidized by the addition of extra air to the conveying pipeline at a point immediately upstream of a screen for the removal of large particles from the material. In the figure, flour is conveyed along pipeline 2 by pressurized air, while further air is supplied via pipeline 5 to housing 9 and through holes 10 into a funnel portion 6 of pipeline 2 to fluidize the flour to aid passage of flour through screen 8. Particles too large to pass through the screen may be removed after transfer of flour is completed through a removal pipe, or during transfer by changing screens.
