Abstract

1,267,772. Shaped coke. GREAT LAKES CARBON CORP. 3 March, 1970 [17 March, 1969], No. 10159/70. Heading C5E. [Also in Division C1] In the preparation of graphite bodies by graphitizing a shaped mixture of ground, calcined sulphur containing coke and carbonizable binder, there is incorporated into the coke a conventional puffing inhibitor which is an oxide of iron, calcium, aluminium or manganese, and a delayed puffing inhibitor which is a compound of titanium, a compound of zirconium or a mixture thereof.
