1,262,924. Rolling gears. NAUCHNOISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT TEKHNOLOGII AVTOMOBILNOI PROMYSHLENNOSTI. 3 Feb., 1969, No. 5684/69. Heading B3M. A machine for rolling bevel gear teeth includes a driving spindle 3, rotatably mounted in a frame 1 for rotating a gear blank 4, Fig. 4, and a tool-carrying spindle 11 mounted in a sub-frame 10 pivoted at 13 to the frame 1. A rolling tool 12 is carried by the spindle and is driven by replaceable synchronizing gears 8 and 15 associated with the spindles. An hydraulic cylinder 20 controls axial movement of the tool 12. The pivotal connection of the sub-frame 10 to the frame permits blanks of different pitch angle to be rolled, appropriate synchronizing gears 8 and 15 being used for each value of pitch angle. A traversible induction heater 16 heats a blank before the rolling begins, and an unloading device 23 removes the blank after rolling.
