Abstract

1,262,334. Radiant burners. H. NAGANUMA. 2 April, 1969, No. 17273/69. Heading F4T. A gas burner comprises a chamber 1 closed by a plate 2 of refractory heat insulating material having a number of apertures 3 for passage of aerated gas from the chamber, and nets 4, 8 of refractory metal thread and of approximately 20 mesh disposed to cover either side of the plate 2, being separated therefrom by gaps 9, 10 of 0À5 mm. preventing flashback. The plate 2 may be a porous ceramic plate 15 mm. thick and the apertures 3 are about 2À5-mm. in diameter and spaced 5 mm. apart.
