Abstract

1,261,295. Hydraulic circuits for lift trucks. CLARK EQUIPMENT CO. 17 July, 1970 [8 Sept., 1969], No. 34729/70. Heading B8H. [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] An hydraulic circuit for a masted lift truck comprises a fluid flow priority valve 52 supplied at port 50 with fluid by a pump 38 driven by an electric motor 36. Port 56 is connected to mast tilt motors 24, 26 through control valve 76, port 58 being connected to load carriage lift motor 22 through control valve 94. The port 50 is connected to port 53 through an aperture in member 74 and openings 70 in hollow spool 62, port 58 being isolated from port 50. The spool 62 is free to slide inside sleeve 60 and is loaded to the left by a spring 64. As long as the fluid flow is below a predetermined level the spool 62 remains in the position shown, all the fluid entering the port 50 passing to the port 56 and being available to the tilt motors 24, 26. Above the predetermined level of flow the aperture in the member 70 causes a pressure difference adequate to move the spool 62 to the right against the spring 64 bringing apertures 66, in the spool 62, and 68, in the sleeve 60 into line to by-pass some of the fluid and make it available to the lift motor 22.
