[Also in Division C7] In a process for controlling a metal refining process (see Division C7) the rate of flow of molten metal from tundish 3, Fig.1, is measured by emitting gamma radiation from source 18 through the metal stream 4a on to a radiation counter 19 the response of which varies inversely with the volume of metal flowing.
