Means for adjusting a vehicle lamp about a horizontal axis to compensate for changes in the attitude of the vehicle with different loads comprises bearings 23 on the vehicle body 14 into which tongues 22 of flange plate 21 of the lamp mounting 12 fit to form a horizontal hinge, and a slot 28 in a further part of the vehicle body 13 through which a screw 26 passes to fit into a captive nut 24 on a further flange plate 20 of the lamp mounting to allow the lamp to be rocked about the hinge during adjustment within the limits of the slot. Knob 27 allows the flange plate 20 to be clamped to the part of the vehicle body 13 to retain the lamp in position relative to the vehicle but released during adjustment. A stop 29 prevents the beam emitted by the lamp assembly from being lowered excessively.
