Abstract
1,256,692. Clamps. C. W. WARD. 9 Dec., 1968 [7 Dec., 1967; 3 July, 1968], Nos. 11255/ 70 and 11256/70. Divided out of 1,256,691. Heading E2B. Clamps used for releasably attaching a flexible skirt to a rigid wall each comprises a circular cam 18 attached to a handle 16 and eccentrically mounted on a pair of stub shafts 20 each releasably located in a recess 30 of a hook shaped lug 26, and a spring tongue pivotably mounted at one end to a mounting bracket and secured at the other end to a clamping strip 13 which engages the flexible skirt. In operation the cam bears on the spring tongue and holds the same in its clamping position with an overcentre action, which action also serves to secure the shafts in their recesses. When the clamp is released the handle and the cam may be removed from the lugs and the spring tongue swung up between the lugs to provide access to the skirt.
